Uni Blues in the VT-League

What is VT League?

VT League is the Victorian State League Touch competition. The competition consists of 6 different franchises (each with a mens and womens side) which play each other throughout the season. The 6 franchises are: University Blues (a combined university franchise which Monash is affiliated with and highly recommends), Western Dodgers (a team from the Western Suburbs with a large proportion of kiwi players), Casey Cougars (a team from the Casey area with a large proportion of kiwi players), The Falcons (a mixed team from many regions), Melbourne City Lions (a team from the city and its close surrounds) and Bayside Vipers (a team from the suburbs on the Eastern Shore of the Port Phillip Bay ).

The competition will run on both Friday nights and Saturday afternoons (one each week) with double header, and sometimes triple header games. The competition will run for 15 rounds this year and will kick off on the 3/10. Three rounds will be played in country locations (Traralgon, Ballarat and Bendigo).

Last year we had quite a number of Monash club members playing in the VT League and so would strongly encourage everyone to have a crack and go to trials.

Trials for each team are open to anyone.

Why support the Blues?

Our Uni is closely affiliated with the University Blues franchise. Each year the franchise is made up of quite a large number of our club members (ex-students and current students) so both teams have a really friendly vibe about them! It's great fun to play alongside touchies you know (from your uni and other unis) at a higher level. The Blues is really focussed on developing individuals throughout the competition and strengthening our uni clubs, so even if you have just started touch come and give trials a crack! Last year The Blues was one of the few clubs that organised social events and met up after their games at the pub for a beer- that social side and team comraderie is quite unique to the franchise. They also won the highest ranked franchise award across both teams so don't shape up too badly on the field either :)
With Blues committee members from the Monash Touch Club the franchise will always know whats best for you.

Be proud to be a Blue!

As for me, I like different sport events. Maybe it is because I wanted to become a professional sportsman but never became. I adore different competitions or matches. I never miss any interesting event. I usually use event and venue search engine http://eventsearch.us not to miss a thing. With its help I find about new sport games and matches and the places they will be held. It is very convenient.
